The BSO Network Philippines Association Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit association of Executive Directors who went through the Executive Director (ED) Series training program of Pearl2 (Private Enterprise Accelerated Resource Linkages-Phase 2), a project funded by the Canadian International Development Agency - CIDA.
It is a network of social entrepreneurs driven to sustain the social mission of Business Support Organizations (BSOs). Its membership includes but not limited to the following: manufacturers & exporters of furniture, handicrafts & home furnishings, gift toys & house wares, Holiday decor, fashion accessories and fine jewelry, leather goods, shoes, organic & natural products, and food including the business process outsourcing sector (i.e. animation, software development, and medical & legal transcription), with Investment Promotion Centers (IPCs) in Aklan, Bohol, Boracay, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iligan, Iloilo, Naga, ARMM and still expanding.
BSO Network was founded in 2006 as a result of the desire of participants to the ED Series to group together and provide a support mechanism for capacity building of members. The network was formally organized and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on January 2, 2007 as the BSO Network Philippines Association, Inc. The association currently has about 50 individual members, representing 36 BSOs, IPCs & academic institutions. The BSOs, IPCs, & other trade associations have a combined membership base of more than 5,000 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) which affects the lives of about 5 million families directly and indirectly.
BSO Network Philippines Association Inc. continues the thrust of CIDA-PEARL2 that is to “work directly with Business Support Organizations (BSOs) and Investment Promotion Centers (IPCs) to support the development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that will create meaningful jobs for both men and women… to contribute to reduction of poverty in the Philippines through equitable and sustainable development.” BSO Network was given the rights to carry on the marketing and delivery of all the Knowledge Products of CIDA-PEARL2 even beyond CIDA-PEARL2’s duration.
Our Mission
BSO Network’s mission:
1. To promote social entrepreneurship;
2. To strengthen, sustain, and expand the network created through PEARL2 Executive Directors Series by establishing a support system that will:
(1) strengthen the orientation and application of social entrepreneurship among its members; (2) strengthen linkages among Business Support Organizations & IPCs; (3) establish strategic alliances with government and non-government institutions; and (4) promote common advocacies.

BSO Network focuses on four major programs: BSO Effectiveness Programs, SME Productivity and Competitiveness Programs, Business ethics and CSR Programs, and IDD. Programs for BSO effectiveness include the following:
